10 Reasons Why You Should Start Blogging Today

You might be a little skeptical about it, but these 10 reasons why you should start blogging today should be able to change your mind. Learn how you can find your voice and share your point of view while being able to make money from home while doing so.

1. Find your voice

One excuse people give for not blogging is that they feel they don’t have anything to say. Diving straight into blogging is a great way to realize that you actually do have something to way. Share your opinions or tell a story, it’s up to you. Don’t be afraid to just start writing, though. Even if you absolutely hate writing! You can even use images or video to illustrate your points instead of typing up a lot of text.

I’ve always felt like I hated writing. When I decided to start a blog, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to write enough. I’ve found that I’m actually able to write tons and tons when I’m trying to explain something. I have to go back and remove a lot of unnecessary content, or move it to its own post.

2. Something fun to do

Some of us have more time on our hands than others, and that’s perfectly fine. You can use your blog to give you something to do during your down time. Think of it as the cross stitching of the new age.

3. Start or boost your  business

Your blog can be the home base for your own business. You can market for products through the content you post. Don’t just post sales pitches, but show how your product service can help customers. Drive traffic to your business blog by creating informative posts and sharing useful content from around the web.

4. Create a portfolio

Do you work or hope to work in a creative field? You can use a blog to create a professional portfolio that’s easy to update with new projects. It’s also a great space to share works in progress or industry tips and tricks.

5. Relieve stress

Rather it’s just a small thing or a world issue, you can use your blog to let out some steam. There are others out there who may share your concerns. Even if you don’t write about your stressors, you may find that working with your blog becomes a relaxing part of your day.

6. Show your creativity

Show off your creative skills. You can post guides and tutorials for crafts and DIY projects. Share your artwork with everyone! Be it traditional mediums or digital, a painting or a web UI.

7. Share your favorite things

Tell people about your favorite products or services, clothing, software, recipes or anything you want. Pair them with affiliate programs to bank some extra cash when someone purchases thanks to your recommendation.

8. Connect with the world

Having a blog is an excellent way to connect with like-minded people from all over the world. You can share ideas, meet new friends or even a business a partner.

9. Make some extra money

There are several ways you can use blogging to make money. You can even write for other blogs instead of maintaining your own. Guest posts, affiliate programs, ads, sponsored posts, and promoting your own products are all ways you can use a blog to create sources of income.

10. Make a difference

Sometimes blogging isn’t all about the fluffy and nice things in the world. I know several people who started blogging just to be able to express their frustration with an illness or their quality of life. These are important viewpoints that many other people can connect with.

Your blog could spark a conversation that could change lives. It could connect people with a common problem and give them a place to vent their own frustrations or just to find support among others who are going through the same experiences.
